When dialing an extension to reach someone in your office, if you add *00 before the four digit number it will give you a quick double ring if this person is unavailable. You are able to hang up right then or wait the 20 seconds to get their voicemail box. When the double ring occurs it’s because they are either already using their phone or they programmed it to be unavailable while they are out of the office.

This is extremely easy to have set up if you don’t want to dial *00 before every extension. On almost any phone you can set it up yourself.
